Tenerife
A sanctury for mental and physical wellbeing in rural Tenerife, this retreat is designed around the opportunity to be present in the landscape. The project is an exercise in grounding spaces in a rugged and arid landscape through a quiet architecture.
Driven by our studio’s commitment to radical environmental design and material exploration, the building takes its cues from the region’s agricultural vernacular. Its massing echoes the low, dry stone walls that trace the island's topography, allowing the structure to sit low and heavy in the earth. By innovating with locally sourced stone and implementing robust passive environmental strategies, we designed a building that not only minimizes its ecological footprint but creates spaces of deep, contemporary refinement. The result is an environment where raw, elemental materials actively cultivate calm and introspection.
