Mix Interiors

Commissioned to design the first dedicated East London headquarters for independent communications agency SALT, THISS Studio worked to translate the agency’s ethos into a physical brand identity.

We developed an open-plan layout with gentle zoning for focused work, team lunches, storage and meetings. Key furniture pieces were led by an idea around minimising the carbon output of the project. We worked with SALT to source reclaimed steel table frames which were used as the base to bespoke furniture pieces, lined with cork and light oak. Every element was chosen with care, patience, and purpose - and our design process was responsive to the materials available.

Rather than forcing a fixed layout, we introduced soft interventions like a patchwork linen curtain by Georgia Bosson, which can divide the space as needed. Everything is mobile, modular, and intuitive – designed to evolve with SALT’s needs.

The result is a light-filled, characterful studio that feels personal and saved around 700kg of carbon compared to a conventional fit out. It reflects SALT’s creative energy and commitment to better ways of doing business.
